Performance verification, not a guess
A CMM performance verification confirms whether a machine still meets its stated specification. Testing follows ISO 10360-2, ASME B89.4.1 or ASME B89.4.10360.2, with results reported against the manufacturer's MPE.
As-found data is recorded before any geometric adjustment. Certificates state the reference standards, the reported uncertainty, and the standard the test was run against.

Two routes to service
Machines are verified on-site or shipped to a partner laboratory, depending on size, downtime tolerance and the shop's schedule. Large gantry and bridge machines in fixed cells are typically serviced on-site.
Portable arms and smaller machines can ship. Either route ends in a certificate issued under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and a written record of any adjustment made.
Services
CMM calibration and repair, CMM programming, and gage calibration cover the measuring equipment and program development a machine shop or supplier depends on for inspection.

Service areas across Missouri and the Greater Midwest
Coverage runs from St. Louis through the surrounding Missouri and Illinois manufacturing corridor, reaching heavy equipment and agricultural machinery suppliers along the I-70 and I-55 corridors.
Service extends to Wentzville, Washington, Cape Girardeau, and across the river into Decatur, Quincy and Peoria.
Why St. Louis CMM Calibration and Repair
- 01
As-found before adjustment
Data is captured before any geometric correction is made to the machine.
- 02
Accredited scope checked first
The performing laboratory's scope is matched to the machine before work is quoted.
- 03
On-site or ship-in
Large gantry machines are verified in place; smaller units and arms can ship.
- 04
Repair and re-verification
Probe, scale and air-bearing repair are followed by a full as-left test.

Common questions
What is the difference between calibration and verification?
Calibration establishes the relationship between a machine's readings and reference values, with a stated uncertainty. Performance verification confirms the machine still meets its specification. Most CMM work sold under the word calibration is verification against ISO 10360 or ASME B89.
What happens if the machine fails as-found?
The as-found result is recorded before any adjustment is made. Under reverification, a length that exceeds the limit on one of three repeats is re-measured three times; all repeats must then pass. Out-of-tolerance findings are reported before correction, not folded into an as-left-only result.
Can calibration be done on-site, and how long is the machine down?
Bridge and gantry machines are typically verified on-site. Time on site depends on machine size and axis count and is confirmed at quotation, along with any thermal soak the environment requires beforehand.
